About Dr Alp Atik

Dr Alp Atik is a dual fellowship-awarded Cataract and Glaucoma Specialist with expertise in multiple procedures, laser and eye injections,

He collaborates with the Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in important eye research. He is proud to have been awarded the prestigious Australian Government Endeavour Scholarship for this ongoing research collaboration. 

He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists as well as the Australian and New
Zealand Glaucoma Society.

Dr Atik completed a Glaucoma Fellowship at the Royal Victorian Eye
and Ear Hospital, before being invited to the University of Alabama, United States for a further Fellowship. While at the University of Alabama, he was involved in surgical procedures on some of the most complex cataract and glaucoma cases in the world.


Dr Atik has published extensively, and is a reviewer for multiple international scientific journals.

 

Public appointments include the Glaucoma Unit at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Austin Health.

Dr Atik believes in holistic, patient-centred care. He ensures patients are well informed regarding their treatment options and have all their questions and concerns addressed at every appointment. He is fluent in English and Turkish,
